See What Apostle Chibuzor Is Turning a Former RCCG Church Into – It Will Melt Your Heart

The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry (OPM), Apostle Dr. Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has purchased a former Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) building in Marine Base, Port Harcourt — not for a new branch, but to establish a free school for underprivileged children.

Announcing the development via Facebook on Friday, May 16, Apostle Chibuzor said the building was funded through tithes and offerings from his congregation. While advised by one of his pastors to use the facility for church planting, the cleric chose instead to repurpose it to serve a growing need in the community.

“I just used tithes and offerings from the church to buy a church building that will be converted to another OPM free school,” he wrote, adding that during a recent visit to the area, he saw children loitering during school hours — a clear sign of poverty and educational neglect.

He emphasized that education is one of the most powerful tools to break the cycles of poverty and crime, citing the model of early missionaries who established free schools and hospitals as gateways to Christian evangelism.

Apostle Chibuzor, who also holds a traditional title, questioned the logic of planting multiple churches within the same vicinity when the core message remains the same. “What is the essence of opening church branches very close to each other while it is the same Gospel of Christ that is being preached?” he asked, pointing out the hardship many local widows face in educating their children.

The new school is expected to provide free education, uniforms, and materials to children in the Marine Base area, further solidifying Apostle Chibuzor’s reputation as a philanthropist deeply invested in both spiritual and social transformation.
