“I Can Never Shade My Own Sister” – Laide Bakare Denies Mocking Biola Bayo Over Marriage Crash

Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has denied allegations that she shaded her colleague Biola Adebayo, following the latter’s recent announcement about the end of her marriage.

The controversy started after Laide shared a playful dancing video on Instagram, captioned:

“All of us will eat breakfast. Asiko lo ma ya to. Good morning people.”

The phrase “eat breakfast” is often used in Nigerian pop culture to refer to heartbreak or failed relationships, and the post came just hours after Biola Bayo confirmed her separation from her husband, Oluseyi, causing fans to believe the post was a veiled dig.

But Laide swiftly debunked the claims in a strongly worded video posted on Friday.

“Bad commenters and trolls association, something must be wrong with you,” she said. “Please let us all be guided. It is still June 5th here in California. I can never shade my own sister Biola Bayo. My prayers are with you. I didn’t get any updates. I was busy with my daughter’s graduation. Trolls are evil.”

Biola Bayo had earlier announced her marital split on Tuesday, expressing gratitude to her supporters and pleading for privacy during the difficult time.

While Laide insists her post was coincidental and unrelated, social media remains divided, with some calling it poor timing and others defending her innocence.

Regardless, Laide has made her position clear: family comes first, and Biola Bayo remains her sister.
