Tanzanian activist Mange Kimambi has sparked online buzz after issuing a direct and emotional warning to Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo, urging her to lie low as Tanzania heads into a politically sensitive period.

Priscilla, daughter of Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, recently tied the knot with Tanzanian music star Juma Jux. While many Tanzanians have warmly welcomed her, Mange—known for her vocal activism—shared a stern message via Instagram, calling for the couple to step out of the limelight in the months leading up to Tanzania’s crucial national elections.

In her post, Mange praised Priscilla as a “sweet girl” who’s been embraced by Tanzanians but stressed that the country is “in the fight of a lifetime” and cannot afford distractions from social media influencers.

“Your Tanzanian in-laws love you,” Mange wrote. “But we are fighting for our rights. We need our people to pay attention to this fight, so we don’t need you and Jux to distract us with stupid content that the government wants you to post.”

She urged the couple to take a five-month break from posting “clout-chasing” content, suggesting they keep things private until after the elections. Mange also asked Priscilla to speak to her husband Jux and his close friend, music star Diamond Platnumz, to also “lay low.”

“If you need to do kiki (attention-seeking content), take him to Nigeria and do it there,” she added. “We love you, our sweet, beautiful girl, so don’t take this the wrong way. We adore you. We love Nigerians.”

The post has since triggered widespread reactions, with many applauding Mange’s blunt honesty, while others questioned whether it was fair to single out the couple during such a tense political time.

As election fever heats up in Tanzania, the activist’s words appear to reflect growing public frustration with celebrity distractions and an urgent desire for national focus.
