The content creator who filmed the now-viral video of Pastor Paul Adefarasin has broken his silence, offering a detailed account of what happened during the street encounter that sparked controversy online.

The clergyman, known for leading House on the Rock Church, was seen in a clip that made rounds on social media — a moment many interpreted as him possibly brandishing a firearm while addressing the young man recording him from the roadside.

However, during Sunday service, Pastor Adefarasin publicly denied carrying or owning a gun. He described the encounter as a breach of his personal space by someone he referred to as “aggressive,” adding that he doesn’t have a firearm licence.

Now, the man behind the camera has shared his side of the story in an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze. Speaking calmly, he explained that his video project involved filming luxury vehicles — particularly Range Rovers — at the Ikoyi roundabout in Lagos.

According to him, Pastor Adefarasin’s vehicle was simply the first one that caught his attention.

“I didn’t move close to the car, I even moved back,” he said during the live stream. “As I started the video, I was just saying ‘Boss, Boss.’ When the car stopped and he wound down, I was happy — I thought he wanted to acknowledge me. But then he said, ‘Don’t do that.’ I immediately apologized.”

He further clarified that he didn’t recognize the person in the car at first, nor did he realize what the clergyman had in his hand.

“I wasn’t focusing on him directly. I was looking at my phone screen to make sure the video came out well. As he drove off, I noticed something in his hand, but I really don’t know what it was.”

The video has stirred conversations around the boundaries of street content creation, public space etiquette, and how high-profile individuals react to being recorded.
