Emotional Moment Kamo State Unveils Baby’s Name — Fans Spot a Tribute to Funke Akindele

Nollywood actor and skit maker Akinyoola Ayoola, popularly known as Kamo State, has melted hearts online after revealing the name of his newborn daughter and fans couldn’t help but notice a touching tribute hidden in it.

The comic actor and his wife, Esther Mide, who welcomed their baby girl in April 2025, recently held the naming ceremony and shared the emotional moment on social media.

But what caught netizens’ attention wasn’t just the adorable footage,  it was the name: Sonia Olufunke Oluwatamilore.

The middle name “Olufunke” sparked reactions almost immediately, with many pointing to the strong bond between Kamo State and veteran actress Funke Akindele, whom the couple had previously praised for her overwhelming support.

In an earlier post, Kamo recounted how Funke Akindele was ready to sponsor his wife’s delivery in the U.S. and even went a step further to sponsor the entire naming ceremony.

He wrote, “So blessed to name our child today! Sonia Olufunke Oluwatamilore.”
