See Why Patience Jonathan Is Teaming Up With Remi Tinubu for 2027!

Former First Lady, Patience Faka Jonathan, has made a surprising announcement: she will not be returning to Aso Rock Villa, but instead, she will campaign alongside the current First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Speaking at an event in Abuja on Saturday night, where she was honored with the Women Icon Leader of the Year award from Accolade Dynamics Limited, Patience stressed the significance of rotational leadership for national unity.
“I believe in one president,” she stated. “I believe in turn-by-turn. When it’s your turn, I will support you. When it’s not your turn, step back—so that the country can move forward.”
Addressing Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, President Bola Tinubu’s daughter and the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Patience expressed her unwavering support for the current administration and Nigerian women.
“I was supposed to call her first, but I saved her for last: the daughter of our wonderful President, the President of Nigeria, the one and only we believe in — President Bola Tinubu,” she said. “Iyaloja, thank you for standing with women because these are your women. Carry them along; they are with you. All the way, we are with you. No shaking. We will follow. Direct us, and we will follow.”
Patience Jonathan also spoke warmly of her long-standing relationship with Remi Tinubu, noting that their bond predates their time in Aso Rock and remains strong.
Known for her candid nature, the former First Lady emphasized her firm support for the current leadership. “I am outspoken—If I don’t like something, I will say it. But if I like something, I die for it,” she added.
