Old Video of Mmesoma’s JAMB Saga Resurfaces as Board Admits Result Error

An old controversy has resurfaced following JAMB’s recent admission of systemic errors in its 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, affecting thousands of candidates. Nigerians have begun revisiting the case of Mmesoma Ejikeme, the Anambra student who was accused of forging her result in 2023.

In the trending footage, Mmesoma could be seen claiming she printed a score of 362 directly from the JAMB portal. The board later insisted her actual score was 249, and under scrutiny, Mmesoma admitted to manipulating the score — a confession many now believe may have been made under duress.

This development follows JAMB’s revelation earlier this month that over 1.5 million candidates scored below 200, triggering nationwide suspicion over possible discrepancies. The board later owned up to a technical error, particularly affecting candidates from Lagos and parts of the South-east.

The internet has since erupted with mixed reactions. Some Nigerians are now questioning whether Mmesoma was unfairly punished, while others maintain she still bears responsibility.

One user, @dangbanamanager, wrote:
“So, it’s possible they tampered with this girl’s result from the back end? A child has already taken their own life because of this.”

Another user, @godknowsme, added:
“Finally, we could conclude when this girl admitted she forged her result, she was under duress. JAMB needs to apologize to her.”

However, not everyone agrees.
@TheOlizhe posted:
“This one was clear forgery. She was holding up a 2021 result format in 2023. Mmesoma forged her result and JAMB this year was incompetent — two truths can exist.”
