After 4 Years of Silence, Jumoke George Receives News About Missing Daughter

Hope has returned to the household of veteran Nollywood actress, Jumoke George, following a promising update in the search for her long-missing daughter, Adeola.

Adeola, who was declared missing four years ago, had vanished without a trace, leaving her family — especially her mother — in deep distress and unanswered grief.

In a heart-wrenching interview recently conducted by actress and filmmaker Biola Bayo, Jumoke George opened up for the first time about her daughter’s disappearance. The 41-year-old Adeola, according to her, had not been seen or heard from for years, with no calls, letters, or digital traces to ease her fears.

But in a surprising and emotional twist, Biola Bayo took to her Instagram page on Wednesday to share that Adeola had been located — alive — in Mali.

“UPDATE! Adeola has been spotted in Mali,” Biola announced. “Though she hasn’t spoken with her mom yet, please tell her to call her. She’s currently in the hospital, but she will be happy to speak with her at least. I’ve tried calling her, but she has not been picking up anyone’s calls, and her mom is really worried.”

The discovery was made possible through efforts by the Child Rights Campaign (CRC), who took on the search and eventually traced Adeola to Mali. It was confirmed that Adeola had left Nigeria in search of greener pastures but became stranded abroad. Despite being in a hospital at the time of discovery, she is said to be alive and receiving medical care.

In a follow-up post, Biola Bayo also shared a voice note of a conversation with Adeola. During the call, Adeola explained that she lost access to her phone and identification documents after finding herself caught in a violent conflict in Mali involving military forces and terrorist groups. The chaos, according to her, left several people dead and her without a way to return to Nigeria.

“I finally got to speak with Adeola and this is what she said. She hasn’t called her mom but mom is happy she’s alive,” Biola wrote in her caption. “@jumoke_george is currently at a state hospital in Lagos, hopefully she’ll be discharged or admitted after all her medical tests and reports, not sure yet.”

The news has since sparked a wave of relief and support online, with fans, colleagues, and well-wishers flooding social media with messages of gratitude, prayers, and solidarity.

Biola Bayo concluded her update by thanking everyone who had shown support throughout the emotional search.

“The love has been massive. I’m indeed grateful to you all,” she wrote.
