Agbero vs Agbero: NURTW Power Struggle Explodes as Secrets Leak Online

A new wave of internal crisis has erupted within the Lagos chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), threatening to fracture the already fragile peace among its top leaders. The tension flared after a viral video surfaced online, featuring fiery allegations from one of the union’s prominent figures, Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Istijabah.
In the video, Istijabah launched a scathing attack on the influential union chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo, accusing him of squandering union funds on Nollywood actresses and turning a blind eye to the financial struggles of loyal members.
While speaking in Yoruba, Istijabah claimed that MC Oluomo pressured members into taking on financial burdens to impress celebrity companions. One of those allegedly benefiting from the union’s largesse, he said, is actress Aisha Lawal, who he accused of taking possession of a Toyota Venza paid for with union funds.
“Aisha Lawal benefited from a Venza I worked hard to pay for, while MC Oluomo kept on pressuring us into debt to impress his Nollywood ladies,” Istijabah said, his tone laced with resentment and regret. “If not that I’ve forgotten about it, I would have collected my car. The other day, I saw her posting that car smiling. I was like ah-ah, this life!”
Though he insisted he has moved on from the matter, the outspoken transport boss hinted at deeper wounds beneath the surface. In the same video, he went further to accuse the current leadership of orchestrating the destruction of his personal properties, including a vehicle and filling stations and made a chilling reference to the death of a child, allegedly linked to the internal feud.
“I will expose every one of you,” he warned. “I’ll reveal how you destroyed my car, my filling stations, and the child you killed. I have the evidence.”
Though he provided no specific details or names concerning the child’s death, the comment has since ignited outrage across social media, drawing both concern and skepticism from Nigerians who have long viewed NURTW politics as murky and volatile.
At the time of this report, neither MC Oluomo nor actress Aisha Lawal had responded publicly to the allegations. Lawal, a popular face in the Yoruba movie industry, has often shared images of her lifestyle online, though it remains unclear whether the vehicle in question truly originated from the NURTW inner circle as claimed.

The silence from both parties has only fueled further speculation, with many online users debating the credibility of Istijabah’s claims. Some see the video as a desperate outburst from a sidelined chieftain, while others believe it could signal the beginning of a much deeper rot within the union.
Social Media Reactions
Nigerians on social media have not held back, with some mocking the transport union for its continuous internal betrayals and alleged links with political patronage.
“As if we no know say all those biz girls buying cars are packages from sugar daddies,” one user wrote.
“Do not believe a single word that comes out from any NURTW (Agbero) members. They are loyal to their stomachs,” another added.
Still, some voices called for a deeper investigation into the matter, noting that these accusations, if true, point to gross abuse of funds meant for grassroots development and welfare of transport workers.
This is not the first time the Lagos NURTW chapter has made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The union, which controls motor parks and transport coordination in Lagos, has long been embroiled in power struggles, with accusations of violence, political interference, and financial impropriety never far behind.
For many observers, Istijabah’s latest video appears to be both a warning shot and a cry for relevance in a union where loyalty often comes at a steep personal cost.
