The entertainer further voiced his excitement for upcoming forum sessions focused on sports and entertainment, noting their potential to shift global perceptions about Africa.

“Can’t wait for the entertainment and sports conversations. It’s time to completely eradicate the negative narratives often associated with the African continent. #weareblessed,” he added.

The Qatar Economic Forum has drawn over 1,500 global leaders across government, tech, finance, and policy sectors to address pressing global challenges and investment opportunities.

During a high-level panel, Tony Elumelu, Chairman of UBA Group and Heirs Holdings, advocated for stronger intra-South cooperation in trade and finance. He also emphasized Africa’s youthful demographic as a compelling reason for increased global investment.

“Africa is full of young, energetic people. It is in the best interest of the world to invest in Africa so we can prosper together,” Elumelu said.

AY’s recognition of Elumelu’s role at QEF echoes a broader sentiment among Africans eager to reshape the global narrative around the continent, from one of deficits to one of promise, innovation, and influence.
