Popular social media commentator Daniel Regha has once agan stirred the waters of the Nigerian music industry, this time criticizing Burna Boy’s newly released single “Ta Ta Ta” featuring American rapper Travis Scott.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on May 22, 2025, Regha didn’t hold back, describing Burna Boy’s recent musical direction as lacking substance.

“Burna’s songs lately has been without substance; That collab ‘TaTaTa’ ft. Travis Scott is more of a child’s play than actual music, and it’s disappointing considering how good he is, or used to be. At this point the only thing selling his songs is the brand and collabs, but truth be told, they are easily forgettable. This new song was weak. No shades,” he wrote.

The post, which has now garnered over 131,000 views, sparked a wave of reactions online, with some agreeing and others defending the self-proclaimed “African Giant.”

Regha’s comment underscores a growing concern among some fans and critics that Burna Boy may be trading musical depth for commercial appeal. While Ta Ta Ta is grabbing attention due to its big-name collaboration, Regha argues that it lacks lasting impact and musical richness.

Fan Reactions:

@Obaji_esq: “First time I agree with you.”

@Briscohood: “I don’t get why Odogwu put Travis on this song. This was a 3/10 for me.”

@crestwrld: “Burna Boy used Travis Scott like seasoning, sprinkled him on a flavorless beat and prayed we wouldn’t notice. We noticed.”

@AfrokonnectNG: “It feels more like a marketing strategy than an artistic effort.”
