Nigerian music superstar Davido has shown support for his longtime friend and collaborator, Chris Brown, following the American singer’s release from detention in the UK.

Brown was arrested in connection with an alleged 2023 nightclub altercation in London, where he was accused of assaulting music producer Abraham Diaw with a bottle. The incident, described by prosecutors as an “unprovoked attack,” led to charges of grievous bodily harm.

Following news of his release on a £5 million bail, Davido took to his Instagram stories to share a brief but telling message: “Breezy Out!”

The post quickly gained traction across social media platforms, sparking a wave of reactions from fans and critics alike.

Davido’s Post

Some users praised Davido’s loyalty:

“Davido na true friend,” one fan commented.

“Chris Brown has already been released, and Davido is excited!” wrote another.

Others were more critical:

“At his age, he’s still assaulting people,” a user remarked, criticizing Brown’s reported behavior.

“Wetin concern you @davido,” another user questioned.

“6 million dollars for bail is wild. Welcome to Nigeria, 50k don do,” joked one commenter, referencing Nigeria’s often-criticized judicial leniency.

Despite the mixed reactions, Davido’s post underscores the bond he shares with Brown, with whom he has collaborated on several tracks over the years, including the hit “Blow My Mind.”

As part of his bail conditions, Brown is expected to remain compliant with several restrictions, including surrendering his passport unless traveling for his upcoming international tour. He is scheduled to appear in court again on June 20, alongside co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu.
