Social media was set ablaze over the weekend after a viral video surfaced showing an elderly man confidently declaring that Grammy-winning Nigerian music star, Wizkid, is his biological son. The dramatic claim was made during a church service at the Revelation of God Fire Ministry, where the man interrupted proceedings to assert his paternal connection to the Afrobeats icon.

The scene unfolded after the presiding pastor claimed he had received a spiritual revelation that the elderly man was surrounded by wealth. The man then stood up before the congregation and boldly stated, “Wizkid na my son. Na Balogun marry hin mama. Look me well, I am the father of Wizkid.”

His confident outburst immediately sparked reactions within the church and, later, across social media platforms, where the clip has since gone viral. While many viewers dismissed the claim as attention-seeking or the product of church theatrics, others have taken a more curious stance, pointing out what they say is a notable physical resemblance between the man and the singer.

Several online commentators weighed in with skepticism, humor, and even subtle support. One user, Kadmaye, dismissed the incident entirely, stating: “Miserable pastor is setting up this foolish man for destruction. Even if you are Wizkid’s biological dad, Wizkid would deny you. Wizkid hates foolishness. His only true parent died and that’s Morayo.”

Others were more amused than outraged. “The man may have a point. The guy no resemble any of him parents,” MemeVoss commented. Another user, Iam_fizy, added: “And he resemble Wizkid true true ooh. Baba fight for what’s yours ooh, we dey ur back.”

While some remained in jest, TerfaTG offered perhaps the most humorous verdict, writing: “Uncanny resemblance. See the head. See the stature. They don’t need any DNA test. The only test they need is to give him mic and tell him to recite: ‘She tell me say.’ That will seal the deal.”

The identity of the man remains unknown, and neither Wizkid nor his team has issued a response to the viral claim. Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Wizkid has previously spoken publicly about his deep relationship with his late mother, Mrs. Jane Morayo Balogun, who passed away in 2023. His father, Alhaji Muniru Olatunji Balogun, is still alive and has occasionally been seen in public events related to the singer.
