Falz Explains His Stand on Premarital Sex, Rejects Traditional Religion

Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has stood by his controversial view that fornication is not a sin, stating that he no longer follows conventional religious doctrines but instead lives by what he calls the “religion of love.”
The rapper came under fire after tweeting that “fornication is not a sin,” a post that immediately ignited debates across social media. Many Christians and Muslims responded by quoting scriptures to refute his claim, accusing him of promoting moral decay.
However, in a recent appearance on Arise TV, Falz addressed the backlash and clarified his position.
“I think people read the tweet and assumed I meant according to Christianity,” he explained. “I wasn’t really speaking from that perspective. I practice the religion of love, and under that religion, I don’t think fornication is a sin.”

Falz further questioned the logic behind society’s disapproval of consensual premarital sex between adults.
“Why are we not allowed to engage in premarital intercourse? What is the issue? Who does it offend? These are two unmarried people—willingly and consensually. Personally, I don’t think there’s a problem there.”
The artist also made a bold declaration about his spiritual path, noting that he no longer identifies.
