“I’m Ready to Lay Down My Life for APC” — Orji Kalu Vows Ahead of 2027

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia State and current senator representing Abia North, has declared unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating he is prepared to lay down his life for the party, especially in his home state.
Kalu made this declaration on Tuesday, June 10, during a media interaction at his country home in Igbere, Abia State. Responding to a question on whether the APC can unseat the Labour Party (LP) in Abia during the 2027 general elections, the lawmaker said he and other loyal party members are committed to strengthening the party’s presence and delivering victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the state.
“APC is strong in Abia. Like I said in my interview, I am ready to lay down my life for the party,” Kalu stated. “I am a member of the party and a strong one at that. I am APC to the core. That’s why APC is strong in Abia North.”
The former governor added that the ruling party has the structure and experience to reclaim more ground in Abia, noting past successes as a sign of what’s possible in 2027.
“Our party will work hard to deliver the President in the state. We have done it in the past, and we will do it again in 2027,” he assured.
Senator Kalu’s comments come at a time when political alignments are already shaping ahead of the next general elections, with many analysts closely watching the Southeast region’s political dynamics.
