JAMB Summons Stakeholders — Here’s What We Know

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has responded to the widespread public outcry over the unusually low scores recorded in the 2025 UTME by convening a special review panel.
The panel, made up of educational stakeholders and tech experts, is expected to meet on Thursday, May 15, to examine what went wrong during the conduct of this year’s exam. Their mandate includes identifying any lapses, recommending solutions, and helping the Board restore public trust.
One of the panelists, Alex Onyia, CEO of EduPoint, shared the invitation on X (formerly Twitter), assuring candidates that transparency will guide the process.
“After our review, I will publicly share my findings. If you’ve been worried, keep calm. You burnt candles and had sleepless nights—we will not fail you!” he posted.
The letter from JAMB confirmed the inclusion of principals, examiners, private school representatives, and heads of tertiary institutions in the panel, with the aim of making a comprehensive, fair assessment of the entire UTME process.
