Lagos Influencer’s N1M Perfume Flex Sparks Online Sniff Test

Popular Lagos food critic and influencer, Opeyemi Famakin, has come under fire after showing off a perfume haul he claimed cost him a whopping one million naira.
Famakin, who boasted on social media about being the “best smelling man in Lagos,” flaunted his collection of niche perfumes, daring anyone to challenge his scent superiority.
“Blew another 1 Million Naira on Niche Perfumes just because,” he wrote. “Best smelling man in Lagos, quote me on that shii.”
However, the online flex backfired when a woman identified as @mowaGLINT, who says she works directly with one of the perfume brands, called out the packaging as fake.
“This is not their packaging, this looks fake,” she claimed, pointing to inconsistencies with the Floraïku product line.

The comment stirred heated reactions across social platforms, with many accusing Famakin of either being duped or staging a publicity stunt.
“Buying a fake for an outrageous amount is crazy,” one user wrote. “He wants to prove himself so bad that he actually got fakes and didn’t even realize it.”
Others speculated it might all be a paid PR move, citing the brand tags in his post.
Neither Opeyemi nor the perfume brands have publicly responded to the allegations at the time of filing this report.
