Nigerian Military Strikes Back: High-Ranking Betrayals Exposed as Amnesty International Claims Slammed!

Nigeria’s military has revealed a shocking internal crackdown, arresting dozens of security personnel and even traditional leaders accused of selling weapons to enemies of the state. This comes as the armed forces also vehemently reject recent figures from Amnesty International on killings and displacements.

The Joint Task Force, North-east Operation Hadin Kai, disclosed that a staggering 41 individuals – including soldiers, police officers, and traditional figures – have been apprehended for allegedly supplying arms and ammunition to terrorists and other adversaries across various parts of the country.

This bombshell revelation was made by Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, during a media tour in Maiduguri. He confirmed that 18 soldiers, 15 mobile policemen, and eight civilians, including a traditional ruler, are now in custody. Preliminary investigations point to community pressure for arms in conflicts and the sheer profit from arms dealing as driving factors. Disturbingly, accounts of arrested individuals like Sgt. Ameh Raphael and Insp. Enoch Ngwa showed millions of Naira passing through for illicit arms trade.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian military is not holding back against a viral Amnesty International report. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, vehemently dismissed claims of over 148 villages being overrun in Benue and an ignored humanitarian crisis as “fallacious.” He also rejected Amnesty’s statistics alleging over 10,000 deaths in Nigeria, including thousands in Plateau State, calling them a “concoction of falsehood.” General Kangye asserted that the report was a “deliberate effort to mislead the general public.”

General Abubakar also highlighted ongoing efforts to combat terrorist logistics, with over 186 suppliers and spies arrested this year. However, concerns remain regarding drug proliferation and “collusion by some non-governmental organizations who convey additives and food items to terrorist locations under the guise of humanitarian assistance.” He also lamented the actions of “fifth columnists” and greedy soldiers diverting military arms.

Despite these challenges, Operation Hadin Kai showcased significant successes, including the return of over 10,000 locals to Kukawa town after a terrorist vacation order and the neutralization of 694 terrorists. The military’s new Unmanned Aerial Base Command is also playing a crucial role in providing intelligence for operations.
