Pastor Adefarasin Revealed What the Viral Content Creator Did That Crossed the Line

Senior Pastor of House on The Rock, Paul Adefarasin, has broken his silence following the viral video that stirred controversy and sparked speculation on social media. The video, which circulated widely last Friday, June 6, showed Adefarasin in traffic, rolling down his car window to caution a man filming him—while holding an object that many online mistook for a handgun.
The moment quickly ignited debate online, with many questioning why a clergyman would appear to threaten an unarmed citizen. But in a direct response during his sermon on Sunday, June 8, Pastor Adefarasin clarified what truly happened—and what the content creator did that, in his words, “crossed the line.”
“I was falsely accused of bearing a firearm,” he began. “Pointing a firearm at an aggressive content creator who came within personal distance. The only thing separating me and him was about three-quarters of a meter and glass.”

Adefarasin said the content creator wasn’t just a passerby recording random footage, but someone who invaded his personal space aggressively, knowing full well it would provoke a reaction.
“I do not have a pistol license. I do not carry a firearm, and I pointed no firearm at anybody,” the pastor said firmly, adding that what he was holding in the video was not a gun.
He described the incident as a calculated attempt to bait a reaction for social media attention.
“What we witnessed was clickbaiters just looking for more money,” he said. “This wasn’t just an attack on a local church or a pastor. It’s a strategy of the one we war with… against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
While the exact identity of the content creator remains unknown, Pastor Adefarasin suggested that such confrontations are part of a broader pattern where individuals target public figures, especially those in faith communities, to create viral moments—regardless of the consequences.
Despite the backlash, the pastor remained calm and grounded in his message, urging his congregation to see the incident for what it was: a distraction from higher spiritual battles.
“As far as I’m concerned, I asked God to help me do the right thing, the way He thinks it should be done—with love and respect for all people.”
