Patience Ozokwor Fires Back at Widow’s Land Grabbing Allegation: “Meet Me in Court”
Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor has responded strongly to claims made by a widow and her daughter accusing her of seizing their late husband’s land because they have no son.
The controversy erupted after a video circulated online showing the widow and her daughter alleging that the actress had taken over the land without their consent. The clip quickly drew mixed reactions from social media users, with some sympathizing with the widow’s family and others questioning the veracity of the claims.
In a detailed post, Ozokwor explained that she purchased the disputed land 15 years ago — back in 2010 — and that the original owner was fully aware of the sale. She further revealed that the previous owner had actually approached her agent to find a buyer, making the transaction legitimate and transparent.
Fast forward to last year, the actress said the widow and her daughter attempted to sell a portion of Ozokwor’s land without her knowledge. Upon learning this, she fenced off her rightful property to protect her ownership.
“To my surprise, the previous owner and her daughter took to social media, accusing me of land grabbing and stirring public sympathy under false pretenses,” Ozokwor wrote. She described their actions as “blackmail, fraud, and malicious intent” and expressed disappointment over the use of her name to “trend” and attract donations.
Ozokwor made it clear she is not taking the matter lightly, emphasizing that social media is not a court of law and that she will pursue legal action to clear her name and defend her property rights.

“I am disappointed that some bloggers shared their story without proper fact-checking. Now I say to you all — meet me in court,” she warned.
The actress thanked her supporters and followers who reached out to show solidarity amid the accusations.
This land dispute saga is ongoing, but for now, Patience Ozokwor is standing firm and ready to fight back in the legal arena.
