Controversial Nigerian street-pop singer, Portable, has once again stirred public attention with a dramatic account of a recent incident he believes was a targeted attempt on his life.

In a viral video shared on social media, the Zazoo Zeh crooner alleged that he was injected with an unknown substance during a live performance at Skyhome, an event venue where he had been billed to perform.

According to Portable, the show drew a massive crowd, and while he was thrilling his fans on stage, a man from the audience suddenly approached him and injected him with a mysterious substance.

“They want to do me like they did MohBad,” the visibly shaken singer claimed, referring to the late singer whose controversial death in 2023 was linked to alleged bullying and medical malpractice.

Portable said that as soon as he felt the prick of the needle, he reacted instinctively and struck the alleged attacker with his microphone, after which the individual reportedly fled the scene.

The singer also disclosed that in the chaos that followed, he sustained injuries and broke his leg, though he didn’t provide details on whether he sought immediate medical attention or filed a police report.

The incident has sparked concern among fans and fueled fresh debates on artist safety, especially during public performances where crowd control is minimal.
