President Tinubu Cancels Nationwide Broadcast, To Address Nigerians from NASS Joint Session

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has cancelled the Presidential National Broadcast earlier scheduled for Thursday, June 12, as part of activities to mark Democracy Day.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in a statement by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information & Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
According to the statement, the broadcast was called off because the President is expected to deliver a speech during the Joint Sitting of the National Assembly on the same day, which will now serve as his national address.
“All other outlined activities for the 2025 Democracy Day celebration remain unchanged,” the statement clarified.
The address from the National Assembly will be part of a historic joint session involving both legislative chambers, symbolizing the strengthening of democratic institutions 25 years into Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.
