See What Deji Adeyanju Said About Pastor Ibiyeomie’s Threat to Arrest Bloggers

Nigerian lawyer and rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, has reacted to a viral video of popular Port Harcourt pastor, David Ibiyeomie, in which the clergyman issued strong warnings to bloggers and critics who report negatively about him or his church, Salvation Ministries.
In the video making rounds online, Pastor Ibiyeomie didn’t hold back as he threatened to arrest and detain anyone who misrepresents his sermons or messages. He accused some bloggers of twisting his words to suit their agendas, declaring that he won’t tolerate any form of defamation or “crossing the line.” The fiery preacher went on to say he wouldn’t entertain apologies or mediation, warning individuals — including one unnamed “young man” — that he would “deal with them” if provoked.
“I’m warning you for the last time,” the pastor said. “Next time, there will be nothing like a warning… I will arrest you, I will lock you up. I don’t care. No man of God will pray for you and succeed.”
He further claimed that some of those spreading misinformation are planted inside his church, accusing them of inciting other bloggers and twisting his words to stir controversy.
“I am not that kind of pastor. Young man, I will fight you,” Ibiyeomie said, insisting that he doesn’t want bloggers using his name for clout or carrying news about his sermons — whether positive or negative.
Reacting on social media, Deji Adeyanju condemned the threats, reminding Ibiyeomie that even Jesus Christ was criticised and insulted but never arrested anyone for it. He questioned the pastor’s sense of entitlement, asking rhetorically, “Who are you, sir, that people can’t talk about your church or criticize you?”

Adeyanju’s comment sparked further discussion online, with many users calling out religious leaders who attempt to silence dissent using police power or intimidation. The debate continues, with the original video still circulating widely and drawing mixed reactions across platforms.
