Kemi “Kiekie” Olunloyo has opened her heart to her followers on Instagram, mourning the loss of her beloved sister, Adepero, who passed away on June 6, 2025.
In an emotional tribute, Kiekie described the moment she learned of her sister’s death: the calls at 11:46 pm, the final goodbye delivered in her husband’s shaky voice, and the overwhelming grief that followed. “My rock of ages… you’re the most High,” she wrote, pouring out her anguish and disbelief at having to say farewell to someone so dear.
Adepero, whose warmth and laughter profoundly touched Kiekie’s life, was not just a sister—she called Kiekie her “lover or sister girl.” Their bond deepened when Adepero entrusted her with the role of godmother to her first child—a gesture Kiekie now holds dear, knowing she must fill both roles. “Your laughter, jokes, and the warmth of your long hugs ring in my head,” she recalled.

Despite the profound loss, Kiekie finds solace in the memories they shared and her faith. “All I have left now are the beautiful memories we shared,” she wrote, expressing hope and gratitude: “Thank you for a beautiful friendship… I know you’re with God, the heavens are rejoicing.”
