See What Was Done to Deeper Life Church: Lagos Demolitions Stir Outcry

The Deeper Life Bible Church has condemned the demolition of several of its properties across Lagos State, alleging a pattern of targeted harassment by government agencies.

In a statement issued by its legal counsel, Nojim Tairu & Co., the church detailed a series of incidents involving the destruction of its worship centers. Notably, the Chronicle Yaba Church was reportedly demolished by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), the Olorunishola Church by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), and the Lawanson Church by the Surulere Local Government.

The church described these actions as infringements on religious freedom and property rights, calling on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and relevant authorities to investigate and ensure accountability.

“Deeper Life Bible Church has always abided by the law and promoted peace among all communities,” the statement read. “These recent developments, however, necessitate urgent attention to prevent further erosion of public trust and religious harmony.”

The church also appealed to the public, religious bodies, legal professionals, and the global faith community to support its call for fairness and the protection of religious freedoms.

“We remain committed to our mission of spiritual growth, humanitarian service, and social development,” the statement concluded. “We will not be deterred by these challenges and are prepared to explore all legal avenues to uphold our rights and preserve our sanctuaries.”
