See What X User Did After She Was Asked to Name Hospital for ₦10m Kidney Transplant Appeal
A Nigerian X user, known as @barbiecuefish, is currently under heavy fire after she allegedly pretended to have network issues during a verification call—right when she was asked to name the hospital where her sister was supposedly receiving treatment for kidney failure.
The user had earlier posted a heartfelt appeal for public donations, claiming her sister needed ₦10 million for a kidney transplant. Her story touched many hearts and attracted donations reportedly totaling ₦3.5 million.
But cracks began to appear when concerned Nigerians decided to conduct a video call with her to verify the situation before contributing further.
During the call, @barbiecuefish answered initial questions calmly, but when asked, “What hospital is your sister in?” her demeanor changed. She started feigning network glitches.
“Hello? Hello? You dey hear me? Abi the phone don off again?” she kept saying before abruptly ending the call.

According to a user identified as @Hybrid_Ola, who made the call public, the timing of the ‘network issue’ felt too convenient and has raised serious red flags about the authenticity of her claims.
The viral video of the call has since triggered outrage, with many Nigerians demanding transparency and accountability for online medical fundraisers.
