See Why Teebillz Thinks DJing Has Lost Its Respect

Music executive Teebillz has sparked a wave of reactions on social media following a pointed comment many interpret as a jab at today’s generation of DJs, particularly women in the industry.
Taking to Instagram, Teebillz shared a photo of veteran Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Jimmy Jatt, alongside a controversial caption that read:
“It’s so sad that any idiots with BBL can be a DJ now… God bless the King @djjimmyjatt 👌🙏🏾👏🏾💛”
While he didn’t mention specific names, his reference to “BBL” — commonly understood as Brazilian Butt Lift — triggered widespread speculation that the remark was aimed at female DJs who are perceived to prioritize image over skill.
The post has since ignited debates across platforms. Some praised Teebillz for defending artistry and calling for a return to talent-based recognition, while others accused him of being disrespectful and undermining women’s efforts in the industry.
“Teebillz needs to name names or keep quiet. This kind of generalization is dangerous,” one user said.
“He’s speaking facts. Too many influencers posing as DJs with preloaded sets,” another user replied.
