Tension Rises as Cardi B and Offset’s Divorce Takes Unexpected Turn

The high-profile split between rap superstars Cardi B and Offset has taken another messy turn.
Cardi B is calling out her estranged husband for allegedly stalling their divorce proceedings, months after she filed for separation in August 2024. The Bronx rapper, known for speaking her mind, recently took to social media to express frustration over Offset’s refusal to sign the divorce papers, hinting at a drawn-out legal battle behind the scenes.
Now, a new report from TMZ confirms that Offset has filed an amended legal response, demanding spousal support from Cardi. While the Migos rapper didn’t disclose a specific figure, the move suggests he expects to maintain aspects of the lavish lifestyle they shared during their marriage.
Offset is also pushing for joint custody of their children but agrees that the kids should primarily live with Cardi.
The couple, who have made headlines for both their public makeups and dramatic fallouts, initially appeared to be handling the separation amicably. When Cardi first filed for divorce, she defended Offset against claims of being an absentee father, even though their online exchanges sometimes bordered on explosive.
In one now-infamous moment, Cardi tweeted that she wouldn’t care “if Offset got hit by a truck” a statement that quickly went viral.
At the time, both stars agreed to cover their own legal fees. However, with Offset’s recent filing, the tone has clearly shifted, raising questions about how the court battle might play out, and whether the money, not just custody, is now at the center of the storm.
