Trouble Deepens for Speed Darlington: Fails to Appear Before NAPTIP, See new date

Controversial Nigerian singer Speed Darlington is facing mounting pressure after failing to honor an invitation from the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). The agency, as confirmed by social media updates, has now moved his mandatory appearance to Sunday, June 2nd.

NAPTIP had initially summoned the artist to appear at their office on Thursday, May 30th. This invitation followed a disturbing video he made, which went viral, where he allegedly claimed to have had “carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old virgin.” The confession sparked widespread outrage across social media.

However, Speed Darlington reportedly did not show up for the initial May 30th date. In a statement he released, the singer claimed the invitation was sent on short notice, preventing him from honoring it due to other commitments. He had suggested a later date of June 26th for his appearance.

NAPTIP, however, appears to be taking a firm stance. According to the updates, the agency stated it cannot work with Speed Darlington’s preferred timeline. Instead, they have now officially mandated him to honor their invitation unfailingly on Monday, June 2nd.

This development indicates that authorities are serious about investigating the claims made in the viral video, as the pressure builds on the artist to explain his controversial statements.
