Trump, Musk to Speak Privately Amid Explosive Feud Over Tax Bill, Epstein Allegations

U.S. President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk are expected to hold a private phone conversation following a dramatic public fallout that has gripped headlines across the globe.

According to the New York Post, the call was arranged at the urging of Trump’s aides, who have been scrambling behind the scenes to calm the intensifying row between the two once-friendly powerhouses.

Despite the rising tension, President Trump appeared unfazed when speaking with Politico, saying:

“Oh, it’s okay. It’s going very well,  never done better.”
He then pivoted to his poll numbers, boasting:
“The numbers are through the roof, the highest polls I’ve ever had — and I have to go.”

The tension began when Trump took aim at Musk during a White House press briefing, criticizing the billionaire for opposing a sweeping tax bill the President strongly supports. The legislation could have major consequences for electric vehicle manufacturers — Tesla included.

“Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore,” Trump said. “He hasn’t said bad about me personally, but I’m sure that’ll be next.”

Musk didn’t disappoint. He fired back on X (formerly Twitter) with a sharp post:

“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House, and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate… Such ingratitude.”

He didn’t stop there.

In a bombshell follow-up, Musk called for Trump’s impeachment and endorsed Vice President JD Vance as his potential replacement. He also made explosive allegations about Trump’s name appearing in the sealed Jeffrey Epstein files, hinting that this was the real reason the documents have remained undisclosed.

“Time to drop the really big bomb: Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Musk wrote.

He later added,

“Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

As the feud spirals into uncharted territory, a possible private call between the two figures may signal a last-ditch effort to dial down the flames — or fuel a new political firestorm.
