Watch the Moment Telecom Mast Collapsed on Ogun Home, Injuring Occupants

Several residents have been injured and property worth millions of naira destroyed after a massive telecom mast came crashing down on a residential building in Ogun State.
The incident, which occurred in a yet-to-be-identified area of the state, was captured on video and widely circulated on social media. The chilling footage shows the mangled structure of the mast sprawled across the rooftop of the affected home, with parts of the building’s roofing, ceilings, and household appliances left in ruins.
According to eyewitness reports and commentary from users on X (formerly Twitter), the mast collapsed during a period of strong wind, with no prior warning or noticeable structural distress.
While no fatalities were reported, several occupants of the home sustained injuries. Emergency services had not yet issued an official statement at the time of this report, but many Nigerians have taken to social media to express concern and call for compensation for the victims.
Watch the video:
“Good these people were only injured and no loss of life… But which network is this and what will be done to the owner of the property destroyed??? There is need for compensation I think,” one user wrote.
Another user added, “Most of these masts are not owned by telecom companies directly but by infrastructure providers. Only Glo still owns most of its masts.”
The incident has sparked conversations around the structural integrity of telecom infrastructure in residential areas, with many calling on regulatory authorities and telecom operators to ensure proper maintenance and siting of such equipment.
