What Atiku Said About Amaechi on His 60th Birthday Has People Talking

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s warm birthday message to ex-Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has stirred up both admiration and skepticism on social media.

In a heartfelt post shared on Tuesday, Atiku celebrated Amaechi’s 60th birthday with glowing remarks, describing him as a “thoroughbred statesman” and praising his role in Nigeria’s development.

“My dear friend @ChibuikeAmaechi. The impact you continue to have on the development of our country is inspiring. It cannot be questioned that you are a thoroughbred statesman. Within the space of 60 beautiful years, you wear the cape of excellence in public service,” Atiku wrote.

He concluded his tribute by wishing Amaechi abundant grace, honor, and peace in the years ahead, calling the milestone “60 beautiful years.”

While some received the message as a noble gesture between two seasoned politicians, others saw it through a different lens,  one tinted by political undertones and past controversies.

A user, @king2myworld, questioned the sincerity behind the praise, writing:

“The claim that your impact on Nigeria’s development is ‘inspiring’ demands serious questioning.”

@omotayosolomon10 added a hint of sarcasm:

“Which impact Amaechi have sef? Egbon just dey look for coalition everywhere.”

Another critic, @idofoi, took a sharper jab:

“A minister of Transportation for 8 years that left his own State out of the Nigerian railway master plan is now your mentor?”

Meanwhile, @blackbornman cut straight to the chase:

“All about 2027… Did you wish him on his last birthday?”
