Popular Nigerian streamer, Peller, has sparked fresh conversations in the online entertainment space after claiming that skit-making on Instagram is no longer a profitable venture.

During a candid TikTok live session with his followers, Peller openly stated that many skit makers have abandoned Instagram and are now transitioning to TikTok due to financial struggles.

“You see any content creator for Instagram wey still dey post skit? E no dey pay. All of them don come TikTok. We are doing live video together, can you see? Hunger is killing everybody. Hunger is killing a lot of Instagram people,” he lamented.

Peller’s blunt remarks struck a chord with many content creators and viewers, who flooded the comments with mixed reactions. While some agreed with his claims, others accused him of exaggeration.

One user, @rer4life, commented, “But realistically how much is Instagram actually paying content creators? Live streaming gifts are actually better. Maybe only Sabinus and few others who host shows and get endorsed are actually making money.”

Another, @DeniyiofEko, added, “Where’s the lie? Even top actors wey we go dey die to meet sef don dey do tap tap.”

However, not everyone was impressed. @Bigjessey responded sharply, “Peller’s level of stupidity na top notch.”

Despite the backlash, the conversation has opened up larger questions about the sustainability of skit-making as a profession and how platforms like TikTok are reshaping how creators engage their audiences and make money.
