Why Tinubu’s Reforms Stand Out — APC Fires Back at Critics

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has boldly claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has achieved more in two years than any of his predecessors, including Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan, and Muhammadu Buhari.
The statement was made by Felix Morka, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, during a live appearance on Arise TV’s The Morning Show on Wednesday, June 4.
“This President has done more than all the presidents before him,” Morka said, pointing to Tinubu’s economic reforms and policy direction as the basis for his assertion.
“He has chosen the tough path, making decisions that may not be popular in the short term but are necessary for the long-term stability of our economy.”
Morka praised Tinubu’s focus on what he described as “priority areas”, particularly the administration’s resolve to make difficult economic choices instead of chasing easy popularity.
He also pushed back against criticism from political figures across the opposition spectrum, including Rotimi Amaechi, Atiku Abubakar, and Nasir El-Rufai, insisting that none of them have presented viable alternatives to the policies currently being implemented by the Tinubu administration.
“All of the hues and cries by members of the oppositions, whether it’s Rotimi Amaechi or former Vice President Atiku Abubakar or former Kaduna Governor El-Rufai, don’t cut it,” he said.
“They have offered no clear alternative or informed solutions to the challenges this government is tackling head-on.”
Morka further asserted that the President is not distracted by political noise, but is instead laser-focused on “guaranteeing the long-term health of Nigeria.”
“It’s easy to criticize, but what is funny is that all of these voices put together don’t even begin to articulate what they think this President should be doing differently. Not one of them has come forward with a credible policy suggestion,” he added.
The remarks come amid growing public debate about the economic direction of the country under Tinubu’s leadership, especially with controversial policies such as fuel subsidy removal, forex unification, and ongoing tax reforms.
While critics argue that the administration has worsened living conditions for many Nigerians, the APC insists that these policies are foundational for future economic stability and prosperity.
