“You’re a Bad Influence” — Rita Edochie Reignites Feud with Nneoma Ukpabi with Explosive Allegations

Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has taken her ongoing feud with younger colleague Nneoma Ukpabi up a notch, launching a fiery and detailed attack that has sent shockwaves across the Nollywood community.

The drama was initially sparked by Ukpabi’s outfit to actress Ruby Ojiakor’s wedding, a plunging dress that many, including Rita, deemed inappropriate for a white wedding setting. The veteran actress had earlier criticised the attire as indecent, sparking a fierce online exchange between the two.

Ukpabi fired back with a bold warning, threatening to expose alleged secrets if Rita didn’t back down. But rather than retreat, Rita has now returned with a no-holds-barred response, making damning claims that stretch beyond the dress drama.

In a lengthy post shared on her Instagram page, Rita accused Nneoma of financial misconduct during her tenure with the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in Imo State, revealing she chaired a disciplinary panel where Nneoma allegedly begged for cover-up.

“I was the chairman of the probe panel committee, Imo State, constituted by AGN.
You kept calling and pleading with me to help cover you up… because you embezzled their millions. I said no!!!” she wrote.

According to Rita, the fallout from that incident turned Nneoma against her, despite what she described as her efforts to offer advice and maintain decency in the industry. Rita insisted her criticisms of Nneoma’s outfit were meant to uphold values, not attack personalities.

She further slammed Ukpabi’s social media presence, calling her online following “inorganic and purchased,” and debunked claims that she was using the feud for attention or to grow her own platform.

“You’re not even recognised in this media space. Your followership is nothing to write home about… You must be very delusional to have made such a statement.”

Doubling down, the veteran concluded that Nneoma’s choice of dressing was “irresponsible and indecent,” labelling her a bad influence and someone unfit to associate with.

“I have clean records… You are a bad influence and should not be mingled with,” she added.
